How to create your opt-in freebie in canva| joricreatives

If you are reading this blog post then you probably are wondering how you can create your own opt-in freebie or lead magnet. Before we dive into how to do this, let’s begin with understanding what an opt-in freebie is and why it is important to have one for your business.

What is an Opt-in Freebie?

An opt-in freebie is free and valuable content you give to your audience in exchange for their name and email. It is simply a way to get someone to join your mailing list.

You know what they say, the money is on the list.

Before you create your opt-in freebie, you need to figure out what your audience’s NEEDS are and how you can meet these needs. from you. This is really important in creating an amazing opt-in freebie that they won’t want to pass upon. There's no point in creating a freebie if it not going to give your audience some sort of value.

Why do you need to create an opt-in magnet?

  •  First and foremost, you want to provide value to your audience. This is because it will lead to faithful followers who trust you and believe that you know what you're talking about.

  • You want to grow your email list.  We all know by now that having an email list is crucial for your business.  Having an email list in your business means that at any moment you have direct access to your audience. That is priceless!

  • You can also use your opt-in freebie as a marketing tool.  You can drive traffic to your paid products using your opt-in freebie. This is because people who would benefit from the freebie you created are your ideal clients and they would probably buy from you when they see the value you provide with your freebie.

Now that we have seen how valuable an opt-in or lead magnet is for your business, let’s discuss how we create one with my favorite online tool Canva!

How to create an Opt-in Freebie in Canva.
In order to create your opt-in freebie, you need to create an account in Canva. It is absolutely free and easy to do that.

Once that is done, you can create your amazing opt-in using these steps.

Step 1.
Select “Create a new Design”.
You can then select the dimension you need depending on what kind of opt-in freebie you are creating. In this case, we are going to create a checklist that is US letter size, so 8.5 x 11 inches.

You can also create a custom size by clicking the custom size button at the bottom.

Step 2.

I created this step-by-step guide to help you design your ebook/opt-in/lead magnet. You will find this helpful in creating your freebie in Canva.

Step 3.
Now that we have our blank page ready to go. You need to decide if you want to start from scratch or use a template. You can grab my done-for-you free template here. You can also browse through Canva’s templates and choose from there.

Step 4.
Once you have created your template, you can go ahead and add in your information and customize your opt-in using your brand colors and fonts.
Here is a video that walks you through the steps.

Step 5.
Download your freebie and share it with your audience.
